Maggie Tooby from Sea Drift Pictures has created this wonderful storybook – A Beach Tale, a tale of a child and a polar bear’s adventures.
Maggie is a local artist here in Pembrokeshire who is deeply saddened by the amount of plastic washed up on our beaches and wanted to raise awareness and bring a smile to herself and others by turning the plastic waste she found into scenes and that’s how A Beach Tale story book was born.
” Most of us are aware of the problems plastic is causing in nature. The art I am creating has grown out of trying to do what little I can to reduce the plastic in our sea by litter picking, often on the remoter beaches! To lift my soul afterwards, I make a quick – hopefully funny – picture on the beach and post it online @seadriftpictures to raise a smile and awareness. I hope you will find it interesting thinking about the origin of the materials.”
